Vicode for Windows

A Windows desktop app for working on your code with AI.

Download Windows beta

Vicode is a Windows desktop app for working on your code with AI. You choose the model, it works in your real project folder, and every change goes through you.

The model is the engine. Vicode is the harness around it.

Current public scope

The public site is focused on the Windows app: download it, set it up, pick a model, open a project, and know what it will ask you to approve.

You do not need an account to download Vicode or read these docs.

Getting started is simple: install the app, pick a model, open a project, and ask for something small.

Who it is for

  • Windows developers working in private local repos
  • developers who want to use local or hosted models on their own code
  • people who keep notes in Markdown or Obsidian vaults and want the AI to use them
  • beta testers who want to see what the AI did and control what it can do

What you can do

  • open a local project folder and work in it
  • run models locally with Ollama, use hosted Ollama, or use an OpenAI API key
  • connect a folder of Markdown notes as Project Knowledge
  • ask for coding, planning, review, or documentation work
  • pick an edit mode per run, from review-everything to full access
  • see the commands, file changes, and sources behind every answer
